what is the Best Free Software similar to MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint??

is the free software compatible beside microsoft products.?



Also, I plan to buy a new Dell desktop today next to Home Windows X/P ( 1 GB & 128 dedicated graphics card ) instead of near Vista because of problems with Vista.

Is that smart or should i turn with Vista which will require 2GB of RAM & a 256 loyal graphics card?
