C2D Vs. Pentium D?

hey right very soon i have a Pentium D 915 @ 4GHZ, 1GB of DDR2-800 @ DDR2-933 and ATI X1600XT. If i get the E6600 or E6700 would i notice a big difference. I mostly only email, AIM, Audio editing, alot of CD burning and the occasional Video editing.

C2D Vs. Pentium D?

You would perceive a difference, it would not be twice as fast but it would still be a difference. Since you know how to overclock, you could acquire one of the even cheaper E6420 or E6320 and overclock it to over 3Ghz, which would give you a manifest gain over what you have in a minute.
yes you would, the 66xx and the 67xx are 2x+ as fast a pd.

no offense, the pd chips are rubbish, you want to dump that thing anyway!
Not much, that's a express processor. With fast memory and FSB. The difference within speed during your editing would be small with the C2D until they optimize those progs for multiple cores.
Very little conduct hit for your money.which could be a lot!
For what you do beside your computer, why all the topend hardware?
