Can i increase the freqency of RAM,and how is it possible?

i am have an intel 845GE chipset supporting DDR200/266/333 MHZ . Recently i added 1GB DDR400 MHZ(PC3200), but it is still showing max freqency as 200MHZ.

Can i increase the freqency of RAM,and how is it possible?

ur reading it incorrectly i think .. download everest free edition and see what its looking approaching ...

and the 400 mem will work fine i have 400 mem within my old box thats max 333 also ...

.
The memory you purchased can run faster that your motherboard supports - YOu will hold to get another mother board that supports your investigational memory speed)
If your old RAM be 200 MHz and you combined the new 400 MHz RAM next to your old 200MHz RAM adjectives the RAM will run at the slowest speed RAM that is installed surrounded by order to be compatible near both types of RAM.

Remove all the aged RAM and the new 400 MHz RAM will run at the maximum supported speed of 333MHz.
Try check your behind the times RAM speed. If your old one is slower than strange one, the speed will run on slower speed.
