I am somewhat computer stupid can someone help me out w/this? Please? Thank you!
960 mb = ? GB?
1024mb = 1 GB
960 MB = .94 GB
Computers work stale a number system different than we do. It is called Binary. In Binary, respectively digit is worth a certain amount and it solely uses 1 and 0.
001011010
This looks like 1 Million, 11 thousand and 10... but surrounded by binary it is something different. The way binary works, the memory add up in increments similar to this...
128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 and so on. So 1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte.
When hard drive manufacture make a tough drive.. the figure it as 1000MB = 1GB. Which is why a 40GB complex drive ends up only have about 37 solid GB.
Hope this helped.
.
960 megabytes = .9375gb
since 1gb = 1024mb
1 GB = 1024 MB
yes
1024mb = 1 GB thats correct
1024mb = 1 gb
the rest you can do yourself, presently can you?
edit: that resources the claim that 960 mb= 0.960gb is wrong
don't know what you learned surrounded by school but, the rule of 3 applies here (loose translation of the flemisch regel van 3).
here are 0.9375 gigabytes in 960 megabytes
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&clien...
0.93 GB
0.9375 Gigabytes
960 mb / 1024 mb = 0.9375 GB
If you are asking why a PC that should enjoy 1gb ram solely reports 960mb it may be because it is using the balance for video run into.
