Anybody suggest a program that can be used to differentiate the speeds of sing core and core2Duo?

i am desperately making a research on whats going on near my desktop. It is core 2 duo but i am not satisfied on the recitation.

Simple operations resembling browsing the control pannel or the drivers itself is desperately slow.

Some advices on checking the Hard desk, but i dont know how to check it. Its SATA 2 with 250 Gb size.

By the way, i tried checking my registry, defragmenting the HD, and cleanning within various ways but nought gives control.

Please helppppppp..
